Brazilian Firm To Build 700 Megawatt Plant In Nigeria

Nigeria has reached an agreement with Brazilian firm, Benco Energy limited, for the construction of a 700MW combined cycle power generating plant in Bayelsa state, Southern Nigeria.   The Nigerian Minister of Power, Prof Chinedu Nebo explained, at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), that the plant was part of an earlier agreement with Brazil which afforded interested Brazilian power firms an opportunity to invest in.... Tanzania to construct 50, 000 houses in a US$ 48 m real estate project

 A total of USD 48.24 will be used in the first phase construction of houses in Tanzania to provide shelter for public servants. The real estate project will be funded by the government of Tanzania. The construction of the houses will be done in collaboration with a real estate developer, Watumishi Housing Company (WHC). Aminex increases Tanzanian discovery estimates to 1.9Tcf

DNO gets 2 year extension for Block SL18, Somaliland

SASOL considering expanding into Tanzania, Ghana and Angola

FG sets aside N200bn for power sector liabilities

 The Federal Government has set aside N200bn for the payment of outstanding market liabilities and financial obligations in the power sector. Africa: UN Licences Kick off Search for Underwater Minerals

US$250m Ressano Garcia power station in Mozambique inagurated

 President Armando Guebuza has inaugurated the Ressano Garcia power station located on the border with South Africa. The Ressano Garcia power station will generate a total of 180 megawatts.   The gas is treated by SASOL, South African petro-chemical giant, before being taken to the plant via a pipeline.
