Kenya: County to Get Sh12 Billion Solar Project

The Rural Electrification Authority has approved a Sh12.8 billion, 55-megawatt solar power plant in Garissa County.   Established through a concessional funding from the Chinese Government, the project is expected to start this July and take a year to be completed.   The project, which could be the largest solar power station in Africa once completed, will power close to 625,000 homes.   The plant will be situated 20km from.... Nigeria: State Govt Awards 700 Contracts for Construction of School

Makurdi — The Benue State Government has concluded plans to award 700 contracts for the provision of structures and facilities in primary schools. Zimbabwe: U.S.$100 Million Mining Loan To Be Finalized by Govt

Uranium Production in Namibia to Triple in 2017

Zimbabwe: Mining Co. Set to Increase Gold Production

Redwing mine, a subsidiary of South Africa-based Metallon Gold is set to increase gold production after resuming operations following a de-flooding exercise, management has revealed.   Redwing mine stopped operations in 2008 after Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) cut power supplies over payment issues.
